Few moments are as meaningful as when our entire camp gathers for meals. Just as important—to us and to you—is ensuring the food we serve is high-quality, nutritious, and offers plenty of variety.

Meet Chef Vanessa

Vanessa is an experienced food service manager with a diverse personal and culinary background expanding from fine dining to traditional summer camps. She brings creativity, tradition and a genuine love of feeding hungry people to every kitchen she leads. Her focus at Eastwood will be preparing balanced, satisfying meals that are kid-friendly with a splash of fun! She hopes to inspire future chefs among our campers through interactive cooking classes that will be offered to the campers. Vanessa believes in the shared-meal experience which fosters bonding around the table among the children. Her educational background is varied with degrees in Nutritional Sciences, Biology and Journalism and along with extensive travels abroad experiencing cultures and foods, she brings a lot to the “table.” Vanessa greatly looks forward to supporting campers and staff-alike through thoughtful, delicious mealtime experiences during their time at Camp Eastwood.

All meals feature a rotating main course alongside a breakfast or salad bar. Morning and afternoon snacks are always available and might include options like carrots & hummus, granola bars, or cheese sticks. Throughout the day, the dining hall remains open so campers can grab a cold drink or a piece of fresh fruit.

Our 100-percent nut-free facility ensures that all allergens are carefully accommodated. We always provide vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other options as needed.

Selective Eater?

No worries! Breakfast always includes a reliable spread at the breakfast bar, with cereal, yogurt, fruit, and pastries. At lunch and dinner, there’s a full salad bar to choose from. In the afternoon and evening, additional options like homemade soup, sun butter and jelly sandwiches, and a pasta bar, featuring penne or noodles with red sauce, cheese and butter, chicken, and steamed broccoli ensures there’s something for everyone.
